SmartDartCheckout 162 in darts
162 is one of the seven bogey numbers: no three-dart route ends on a double. Here's how to use the visit as the perfect setup instead.
Setup recommendation
Throw Treble 17, Treble 17, 20 — that leaves exactly 40 (Double 20), one of the most popular finishes of all.
Why can't 162 be checked out?
Three darts can finish at most 170 on a double (T20, T20, bull). For 162 no combination of up to three segments exists whose final hit is a double or the bullseye — however you do the maths. That's why these scores are called bogey numbers: 169, 168, 166, 165, 163, 162 and 159.

Can 162 be checked out with three darts?
No — 162 is one of the seven bogey numbers without a three-dart finish. Use the visit as a setup instead: Treble 17, Treble 17, 20.
Which double should beginners aim for?
Most players set up double 16 (32 left) or tops (double 20, 40 left): both halve nicely after a narrow miss into the single bed. More important than the “perfect” double is practising the same favourite every time.
