Cricket Darts Rules — Explained Simply

Cricket is a tactical darts game around the numbers 15 to 20 and the Bull. The goal: close all seven targets while staying ahead.

1

The targets: 15–20 + Bull

Only the numbers 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and the Bull are in play. Every other segment counts for nothing.

2

Close with 3 marks

Each target is closed with three hits ("marks"). Single = 1 mark, double = 2, triple = 3. So a triple 20 closes the 20 in a single dart.

3

Score on open numbers

Once you've closed a number and your opponent hasn't, further hits count as points (number value × marks, Bull = 25). As soon as the opponent closes it too, the number is "dead".

4

How you win

The first player to close all seven targets AND hold at least as many points as the opponent wins the leg. Marks per round (MPR) is the key Cricket statistic.

Start playing in 3 steps

1

Pick Cricket

Tap "Cricket" in Quick Match — against a friend on the same device or against the bot.

2

Opponent & strength

Enter a friend or choose one of the 5 bot levels (beginner to world class, ~1.0 to ~5.0 MPR).

3

Throw & tap

After each visit, tap single/double/triple and the number — marks, points and MPR update live.

Play Cricket against the computer

No opponent around? Play Cricket against a bot in 5 difficulty levels — realistic marks per round from about 1.0 (beginner) to 5.0 (world class). The bot closes numbers, scores on open ones and plays tactically. Perfect for practice, unlimited and free in the browser — exactly what plain web scorers don't offer.

Everything for real Cricket

Live MPR

Marks per round — the Cricket equivalent of the 3-dart average — for both players in real time.

S/D/T entry pad

A dedicated Cricket pad: pick single, double or triple and tap the number. Stage up to 3 darts, then confirm.

Marks grid & points

A clear board with /, ✕ and ⊗ per number. Numbers you're currently scoring on are highlighted in gold.

Undo

Mis-tapped? Take back a single dart or a whole visit — cleanly by replay, without breaking the state.

Best of & decider

Best of or first to legs, alternating starter per leg and decider selection on a tie — as it should be.

Cricket Darts FAQ

Cricket is a tactical darts game around the numbers 15 to 20 and the Bull. You "close" each number with three hits and score points on numbers your opponent still has open. The winner is whoever closes all seven targets while holding at least as many points as the opponent.

Only 15–20 and Bull count. Single = 1 mark, double = 2, triple = 3; three marks close a number. If you've closed a number and your opponent hasn't, further hits score points (number value × marks, Bull = 25). Win: all seven targets closed AND points ≥ opponent.

Yes. Cricket is unlimited and free in Quick Match — against a friend or the bot, with no subscription and no hidden costs.

No. Cricket runs straight in the browser on phone, tablet and desktop. No app store, no download, no account needed.

Yes. You can play a bot in 5 difficulty levels (about 1.0 to 5.0 MPR). The bot closes numbers and scores tactically — ideal for practice when no opponent is around.

MPR stands for "marks per round" and is the most important Cricket statistic — the equivalent of the 3-dart average in 501. SmartDart calculates MPR for both players live.

In cut-throat, points are added to your opponents instead of yourself. SmartDart currently offers standard Cricket only; cut-throat is on the roadmap but not playable yet.

Right now Cricket is 1 vs 1 (friend or bot). Cricket with 3+ players and Cricket tournaments aren't available yet — they're on the roadmap. Tournaments on SmartDart run on 501/301.
